Traditional folk arts takeover during The Reykjavík Arts Festival 2024

We were MORE than happy and excited to join our many friends of the traditional arts during a Trad-takeover at the Reykjavík Arts Festival 2024, curated by the newly founded Vökufélagið, an Icelandic association for people in folk arts. Guests were invited to enjoy workshops in music, dance and poetry, a conference, and a concert featuring us and a handful of wonderful friends in the scene; Spilmenn ríkínís, Bára Grímsdóttir, Ragnheiður Gröndal, Ásta Sigríður Árnadóttir, Anna Fält and Linus Orri.

To a blossoming traditional arts community in Iceland!

A vitamin boosted 2024-2025 season

We are happy to share that UMBRA was granted a national artist’s grant in Iceland for the latter part of 2024 to pursue our work and develop new music, collaborations and exciting projects. We are humbled and grateful!

A thankful Yuletide season 24

Dear friends

This Christmas, we share a video from our recent concert, performing our own arrangement of "Gloria in excelsis Deo brought to life in collaboration with the popular Icelandic choir, Söngfjelagið.

As the music fills your homes, we hope it brings joy, peace, and a sense of togetherness. After all, music is a language that unites us all. So, here's to you, to us, and to a harmonious future filled with music and shared moments.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Noël in the Netherlands

We hardly have had time to reflect, but we had a LOVELY time in the Netherlands a couple of weeks ago. ✨Alkmaar, Delft, Rotterdam, Deventer and Winterswijk✨ Met some lovely old and new friends, had lots of taart and kaas and got to play in some of our favorite venues 🤩

Untill next time ❣️
